We caught up with Rosie, our digital media lead, to hear more about her experience with marketing.

How long have you worked at TLS?

I’ve worked at TLS since 2016, when I was responsible for managing the Facebook and Twitter accounts for our first client, Le Mas Candille!

What motivated you to start working in Marketing?

I’ve always loved storytelling and seeing how brands interact with their clients. Marketing is a huge part of the customer’s digital journey and I’ve always been drawn to making that the best possible experience for them!

How did you gain your Marketing skills?

Initially through trial and error, and then I did my Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in 2022.

Do you have a favourite Marketing field you like to work in?

Digital marketing is what I’m most interested in – it’s always evolving and there’s so much to learn about it constantly. I’ve also started reading more into SEO, which is very interesting too. 

What tips would you give to someone just starting their career in Marketing?

Don’t be afraid to fail. A lot of successful marketing campaigns are the result of many tries beforehand. And keep learning! Sign up to newsletters, take a course, and of course, check out TLS’ handy blog. 

What are your top 3 recommendations for boosting a brand’s social media engagement?

Make sure your tone of voice matches your brand identity. You want to be as real with your clients as possible

  • Learn what your personas and leads want to consume – what you might like to do may not always match up to what’s best for the customer
  • Review your analytics and learn from them!

What’s the first thing you do after finishing work for the day?

Definitely a dance in the kitchen with a glass of wine!

I’d get a Bernese mountain dog for sure – or a goldendoodle. 

What’s your go-to bagel topping?

Smoked salmon & cream cheese (on an everything bagel, of course!)
